Embrace Steel Group has appointed former Severfield executive Martin Kelly as its new chief executive officer.
Kelly joined the UK steel specialist from Severfield, where he was strategic business development director.
His responsibilities included shaping company strategy and overseeing mergers and acquisitions.
He also previously worked in KPMG’s construction and infrastructure advisory team and has recently advised engineering businesses on leadership and growth.
His appointment follows the January hiring of Ross McAdam as chief financial officer and the 2024 arrival of chief operating officer Matt Gibson.
The three roles now complete the Embrace executive team.
Embrace was founded in 2022 and last year acquired North Yorkshire-based Hambleton Steel and Carmarthenshire firm Shufflebottom.
The group aims to grow through operational improvements and targeted acquisitions.
Chairman Richard Whiting said Kelly’s experience across construction and engineering sectors would help the group scale its operations.
The company is targeting expansion in steel-frame building systems across the UK.
