Groundworks and civil engineering contractor NRI Civils has gone into administration.
The Northamptonshire-based firm specialised in domestic and commercial groundworks, as well as road and sewer projects.
Earlier this year, it was involved in a troubled Barratt Homes development at Darwin Green, Cambridge, where about 70 new-build homes were scheduled for demolition after problems with the foundations were identified.
An application to demolish the homes is still awaiting approval from Cambridge City Council.
NRI also delivered groundworks for clients including Balfour Beatty, Bellway, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon, as well as local homebuilder Brampton Valley Homes.
Founded just over 10 years ago, NRI had a turnover of about £20m and employed 11 people.
Insolvency practitioner PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency confirmed that the firm was placed in administration on 14 November and that Gary Steven Pettit had been appointed as administrator.
“Given the urgent nature of the appointment and legal advice being obtained in respect of realisation of certain of the company’s assets, the administrator is not able to comment any further at this point,” PBC said.
