Violette_Fr, the premium cosmetics line founded by French makeup artist Violette Serrat, has closed a Series B funding round, the brand announced on Tuesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The round was led by Silas Capital, a New York-based consumer investment firm that has also invested in cosmetics maker Makeup by Mario and hair care line RÅz. Existing investors Monogram Capital Partners and Felix Capital also participated.
Originally launched in 2021, the line is known for playful products with a Gallic twist, like Boum-Boum Milk, $43, a product used to prepare the skin for makeup, and Bisou Balm, $29, a sheer lipstick. It now has 14 products and is stocked in global retailers in the US, Europe and Australia such as Mecca, Moda Operandi and Le Bon Marché.
The funding will allow the brand to invest in product development, global expansion and improving its digital capabilities, Serrat said in a statement. Prior to launching the brand, Serrat served as a creative advisor to brands such as Estée Lauder and Dior. She was previously the creative director of makeup at LVMH-owned luxury cosmetics house Guerlain.
