Blockchain-based virtual reality (VR) ecosystem and VR-dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) developer Victoria VR launched its new Telegram-based player-versus-player (PvP) play-to-earn (P2E) game VRtap.

According to an Aug. 13 Victoria VR announcement, VRTap is a mobile version of the company’s PvP Arenas. This new game aims to integrate the existing VR game with a new platform, allowing more players to compete for VR points.

The new game is a strategic PvP game leveraging P2E mechanics while also connecting realistic VR gaming with Telegram-based mobile users. The game’s players can use a number of characters and champions to fight PvP battles and gather resources.

VRTap is built around the principles of the five natural Feng Shui elements, allowing players to master and purchase numerous champion characters with their own abilities — as well as characters skin customization. Those characters can then level up, gaining new skills that will come useful in future battles. The game also features a task and quest system making for more varied gameplay.

The PvP battles that VRTap is built around let players use spells to outmaneuver and subsequently win against other users. Battle variability is enhanced by different champions having different skills, abilities and passive bonuses altering the gameplay depending on which characters are used.

Players earn VR points both by playing the game in exchange for winning battles or mining resources and as passive income. Adam Bém, CEO & Co-Founder at Victoria VR, said:

“With the launch of VRtap, we are bringing a new level of strategic gameplay to mobile devices while introducing immersive experiences that our VR games are known for. […] Combining the tactical depth of strategic PvP battles with the accessibility of Telegram, we are creating a bridge between mobile and VR gaming.”

Bém explained that Victoria VR hopes that this integration between the VR and Telegram ecosystems will result in communities across multiple platforms engaging in a new way. He also hinted at a possible “completely new category of airdrop, which has never been seen before” aimed at VRTap players.

Victoria VR made news back in April for integrating AI into its games, leveraging the OpenAI application programming interface. The company was able to help users create virtual worlds, games and apps without any programming knowledge thanks to the integration.

Players are now able to develop characters and virtual landscapes through simple instructions. Victoria VR also announced plans to incorporate more AI models like DALL-E, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion to expand the capabilities of image generation systems.
